COVID-19 is still raging across our state. While there are cases in Effingham County it appears the rate of infections has been suppressed. We as business owners and citizens have a responsibility to look out for the safety of our customers and community around us.

Dixie Triggers and Eden Gun Works are open for business. We are taking in FFL transfers and working with customers on firearm customization. Due to the current pandemic we are limiting our customer interactions and still operating under an “appointment only” model. (For more information on our appointment only policy, see here.)

Firearm sales are up and demand is high, particularly around self defense handguns and rifles. Ammunition is near impossible to find through our wholesalers for these types of firearms. Businesses across the country are operating under restrictions and this has slowed manufacturing and distribution. We anticipate availability to be limited for months.

As always we look forward to helping our customers get the right firearms and accessories for their needs. If you have any questions feel free to email spanky@dixietrigges.com or call or text the shop phone at 912-754-1587.

Dixie Triggers and Eden Gun Works are open for business. Due to the lingering illness, we are operating by APPOINTMENT ONLY under the guidelines listed here. If you have real business with us, please email spanky@dixietriggers.com to schedule an appointment.

We anticipate running the firearm shop this way for many more months. Please be patient with us as we work to provide the best service while striving to keep our families’ and customers’ health and well being protected.

Everyone stay safe! If you are sick or have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 stay home!

On April 6th Dixie Triggers and Eden Gun Works temporarily suspended operations due to the spike in new COVID-19 cases. After careful consideration we have decided to keep the shop in a suspended status one more week.

Starting Tuesday, April 21st we are planning to return to by appointment only. We will be giving priority to those customers that had business with us interrupted by the temporary suspension.

Please remember that appointments must be made in advance and will only be made for customers with real business. Customers are expected to practice good personal hygiene as directed by the CDC, and may be subject to screening at the shop.

Dixie Triggers and Eden Gun Works reserve the right to close at any time, or cancel any pending appointments, should we feel that the safety of us, our families, or the community require this.

We hope and pray everyone stays safe. If you have any questions please feel free to email Spanky@dixietriggers.com or call or text the shop phone at 912-754-1587.

Updated Tuesday, April 14th.

The National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) is the system implemented by the Brady Act that Federally Licensed Firearms dealers use to run the background checks on firearms purchases. This system is run by the FBI. Over the past few years the number of checks run through this system has increased to the point where single events can cause problems.

With the COVID-19 outbreak causing shelter in place orders around the country, and the spike in firearms purchases in response, it has been difficult for Dixie Triggers to run background checks in a timely fashion. We have been unable to contact NICS in several cases, and have had to schedule follow-up appointments on a later day to complete the transaction.

Dixie Triggers, as a Federally licensed dealer, is required to follow the law as listed in the Brady Act. We have no control over the management or operations of FBI NICS.

Dixie Triggers strongly encourages all customers get their Georgia Weapons Carry License (WCL). (Unfortunately at this time all new WCL applications cannot be made as the Probate Courts that issue such licenses are closed due to the virus.) We are allowed to bypass the background check requirement for customers with a valid Georgia WCL. If we need to run a background check please understand that it may take days or weeks to complete the sale or transfer.

Despite the current ammo shortages Dixie Triggers has plenty of .22 LR, .22 Magnum, .380 ACP, and various centerfire rifle cartridges. Some of these have special pricing!

As of right now we are out of: 9mm, .45ACP, .38SPL, .223Rem/5.56mm, .308Win, 7.62x39mm, and 12GA.

As of today, March 19th 2020, Dixie Triggers will be BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.

EEMA confirmed today the first case of COVID-19 of an Effingham County resident. Our customer’s safety is a top concern and are taking steps to reduce the chances that the firearms shop becomes a place for the virus to spread.

Until further notice,
-Dixie Trigger’s and Eden Gun Work’s business will be conducted by appointment only.
-Appointments will only be available to customers that have real business with us.
-Any customers that have symptoms associated with the novel coronavirus or who have traveled to areas the virus is widespread should stay home.
-All customers will be required to wear a face covering in accordance with CDC guidance
-All customers will be subject to screening before admittance into the shop and we reserve the right to deny admittance to anyone.
-We will be conducting business under our awning just in front and respectfully ask that customers not enter the shop.

In response to the emergency declarations and travel limitations issued by Chatham County and the City of Savannah we will not be scheduling appointments to residents of those areas. We are committed to serving the residents of Effingham County.

Please work with us and take this illness as seriously as we do. This are the last steps we can take to reduce infection risk without closing the shop until the outbreak diminishes.

These policies are in effect until further notice. Dixie Triggers and Eden Gun Works reserve the right to change policies or shut down business at any time.
